The tragic story of Laika, a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the earth. A stray from the streets of Moscow, she flew aboard the spaceship Sputnik 2 that launched into outer space on 3 November 1957.
The Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA), During WW2, was a civilian organisation which made an enormous contribution to the war effort by ferrying RAF and Royal Naval warplanes between factories, maintenance units and front-line squadrons.
